ANDHAGAN is a crime thriller film directed by Thiagarajan who co-wrote the screenplay with Pattukkottai Prabakar. The film is produced by Staar Movies. It is a remake of the 2018 Hindi film Andhadhun. In 2019, Thiagarajan purchased the remake rights of Andhadhun, Thiagarajan himself took over this movie as a remade. The suspense is maintained thorough out the movie.
A piano player pretending to be visually-impaired, unwittingly becomes entangled in a number of problems as he witnesses the murder of a famous film actor.
A breezy start to the film, the film is all easy and nice and at times can be a little uninteresting until the first twist hits the audience. Then on a sequence of twists and turns keeps the juggernaut rolling as it becomes difficult predict how the story would reveal. The first half has a bit of everything and the interval sets up for a stimulating second half.
It is in the second half that despite a good run half way, the screenplay generously uses a lot of forced twists that undoes the good work in the first half. The setup now feels shaky as the new turn of events do not necessarily add up. It is in the climax it gets a little better. But the amazing work pre interval is undone by an ordinary second half. A faithful adaptation.
Good to see Prashanth back and deliver a decent performance. Simran is the highlight. Priya Anand is in fine her character. She is added glamour to this movie and conquer every youths heart. Always Karthik hams a lot but cannot be ignored. Samudrakanni is did well. KS Ravikumar and Urvashi are excellent. Yogi Babu has little to do, but he did great manner with humourous.
Ravi Yadav’s cinematography is effective. Santosh Narayanan’s musical score is great. Pattukkottai Prabhakar Dialogues are fine. Sathish Surya’s editing could have been backbone. Direction is extraordinary.
It was really a nice watching experience with lots of twists and turns making anyone very curious asto what will happen in the subsequent scenes.
Director Thiyagarajan’s experience that helps of success. His brilliance shows that he used karthik’s Amaran movie song “Chandhirare Suriyare Natchathira Nayagare” and Ponnumani movie song “Nenjukkuley innaarendru”
A really come back movie for Prasanth who alongwith his father’s team gave us a quite different thriller to watch.
Kudos to Thiagarajan, Prasanth and all connected artists. The best crime thriller in this year. Your Place is remain same Top Star & now you nailed it.
